Family policies
What families ask before the first day, answered plainly.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Drop-off and pickup
Staff meet each child at the door of the two elementary schools nearby and walk the group to the hall, where a staff member signs every child in. At pickup a child leaves only with an adult on your authorized list, and we ask for photo ID from anyone we haven't met. The adult signs the child out at the front table, with the time. If the plan for the day changes, call, text or write on WhatsApp before two in the afternoon and we will update the list.
Late pickup
We close at 6 p.m. If you are running late, call, text or write on WhatsApp and a staff member stays with your child. A late pickup goes in your file, and how it is billed is in the terms you receive when you register. If it happens often, the director will call you to talk it through.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious rash stays home until they have been well for a full day. If a child becomes ill here, we call the first person on your list and a staff member stays with the child until you arrive.
Meals, snacks and allergies
A snack opens every afternoon, such as fruit, crackers, cheese or yogurt, with water. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll.
Closures for weather and holidays
When the local schools close, we are closed, except for the vacation weeks in February and April. On early-dismissal days we open at dismissal. Weather closings go out by text and WhatsApp that morning.
Screens and phones
Children do not use phones or tablets during the afternoon. A child who brings a phone keeps it switched off in the backpack, and if you need to reach your child, call us and we will bring them to the phone.
Leaving the program
We ask for two weeks' written notice before a child leaves or changes days, so another family can have the place. Tell us on the contact form, on WhatsApp or at the front table.
Still have a question?
Ask us at the front table, by phone, on WhatsApp or through the contact form.
