What changes by grade
Kindergarten and grade 1
Homework help starts with reading together, in Spanish or English, at a table near the snack area. Staff walk the youngest children to the door at pickup.
Grades 2 and 3
Children start their own homework and call an adult over when they need one. The Thursday reading circle runs in both languages.
Grades 4 to 6
Older children get a quieter table and more choice in the activity hour, and some help the little ones set up snack.
