Which ages and grades do you take?
Children ages 5 to 12, from kindergarten through grade 6, on five, three or two afternoons a week.
What is a school-day afternoon like?
Snack first, then an hour of homework help, an activity hour and a pickup window with free play. The activity changes each day: gym games, hand drums and dance, the art table, a reading circle and free choice.
How does homework help in two languages work?
There is a Spanish table and an English table side by side. Your child sits where the homework feels easiest to start and can move at any time. Every adult at both tables speaks Spanish and English.
How does my child get here from school?
Staff meet the children at the door of the two elementary schools nearby and walk them to the hall as a group. You tell us your child's school in the registration packet, privately.
Who may pick up my child?
Only adults on the list you give us. We ask for photo ID from anyone we haven't met, and the adult signs your child out with the time.
How do I hold a place, and what is the waitlist?
A place is held when you register and pay the first month. When a group is full we keep a waitlist in the order families asked and call the next family first.
What do you do about allergies and medicine?
Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll. Medicine is given only with your written permission, by a staff member trained to give it.
Can a friend join my child's group?
Yes, when there is room. Friends can share days and a table, and we check with both families first.
Are phones allowed?
Phones stay switched off in the backpack. If you need to reach your child, call us and we will bring them to the phone.
Are you open on school vacation weeks?
We are open full days in February and April, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., booked by the week. We are closed on the other school holidays.
