Safety routines

  • School pickup

Staff meet the children at the door of the two elementary schools nearby and walk the group to the hall together. A staff member counts every child on arrival.

  • Sign-in and pickup

At pickup the child goes only with an adult on your list, and we ask for ID from anyone we haven't met. The adult signs the sheet at the front table, with the time.

  • Allergies and medicine

Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll. Medicine is given only with your written permission, by a staff member trained to give it.

  • When a child is ill

A child with a fever or a contagious illness stays home. If a child becomes ill here, we call the first person on your list and a staff member stays close until you arrive.

  • Headcounts and drills

We count heads every time children move between the tables, the gym and the door, and we practice fire drills with the children.

  • Outdoors and weather

On dry days part of the activity hour goes outside with staff. When it is wet, very cold or very hot, the activity moves indoors.
